In 2018, Los Angeles City Council, with the help of Maryam Zar (IADC’s Parliamentarian), passed a resolution and declared April 27th Iranian American Women Day. Since then, members of Iranian American Women’s Foundation in various cities in California have followed suit and passed similar resolutions in San Francisco, W. Hollywood, San Jose, Long Beach, Irvine, Tustin, Fullerton, Saratoga, Rancho Cordova, Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel, and Beverly Hills.

If you know anyone in your City Council, please reach out to them and ask them to declare April 27th as the Iranian American Women’s Day, as well. In the meantime, let’s all celebrate the achievements of the Iranian American community and continue to build on our gains across the State of California and beyond!
