Statement from the Iranian American Democrats of California on Israel’s Attack Against Iran
We are deeply alarmed by Israel’s military attack on Iran, which struck civilian infrastructure and reportedly killed at least 79 people and injured over 330. As Iranian Americans with loved ones in the region, our hearts are with all those affected by this violence and the growing fear and uncertainty it brings.
IADC reaffirms its commitment to peace through diplomacy and dialogue. We are gravely concerned by the escalating brinksmanship of both regimes and urge leaders to prioritize the protection of civilian life and infrastructure.
This attack sets a dangerous precedent: a nuclear-armed state, outside the NPT, striking a non-nuclear NPT signatory. These actions are clear violation of international law, escalate instability in the region and violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We condemn any aggression that endangers civilians and call for immediate de-escalation. While we do not endorse any government’s rhetoric, no state should act with impunity or disregard global nuclear norms.
We urge the United States to take an active role in de-escalating tensions and preventing further violence. This moment calls for bold diplomatic leadership rooted in a renewed commitment to international law —not military entanglement.
We stand with the people of Iran and all civilians affected. The path to regional stability lies in dialogue, and we remain committed to peace and justice.
